Fire Marshal's Office

The mission or the Fire Marshal’s Office is to protect lives, property, and the environment through fire prevention.  This is accomplished through existing occupancy

inspections, new construction services, public education, code enforcement, and fire investigation.

Services Offered:

Existing Occupancy Inspections:  The Fire Marshal’s Office has jurisdiction to inspect (for fire and life safety violations) all commercial buildings and multi-family dwellings within the City of Battle Ground.

New Construction:  Plans for all new building construction and fire systems are reviewed by the Fire Marshal’s office.  If you require an inspection for new construction or an acceptance test for newly installed fire protection system (i.e. fire alarm or suppression system) or have any question concerning new construction please call 360-342-5046.

Public Education Programs:  Fire prevention and safety is a team effort between you and the Fire Marshal's Office. We offer education programs to teach fire safety and prevention to children, seniors and local businesses in our community.

Fire Investigation:  The Fire Marshal’s Office has extensive training and experience in fire dynamics, evidence collection, and fire pattern analysis.  Fire Investigators work with firefighters and law enforcement to determine the origin and cause of fires.  Fire Investigation aids in future prevention efforts and can also help bring criminals to justice. Contact the Fire Marshal for further information about fire investigation.
